World Championship Boxing: Garcia vs. Burgos

Undefeated rising superstar Mikey Garcia will defend his WBO Super Featherweight Championship against top rated challenger Juan Carlos Burgos. The co-feature is a match-up between undefeated Heavyweights, as Philadelphia’s Bryant “By-By” Jennings steps into the ring to take on popular Polish knock-out artist, Artur Szpilka. This fight will happen on Jan. 25 at New York’s Madison Square Garden on HBO.

Garcia (33-0, 28 knockouts) is coming off an eighth-round knockout of Roman “Rocky” Martinez last month that earned him the belt and represented his 10th stoppage victory over the course of his past 11 fights.

Burgos is now making his third bid at a world title, and his second for the WBO 130 lbs belt. In 2010, he traveled to Japan and challenged Hozumi Hasegawa, losing on points. Although that fight was in the Japanese fighter’s backyard, the loss is perceived as legitimate.

Mikey Garcia is arguably the best technician in the sport under the age of 30, which is a big part of why he is the #13 pound-for-pound fighter in the world. A knockdown or two will put Burgos onto the defensive, but against Garcia the increased effort of moving around the outside of the ring will wear him down. With the fight ending either in a late TKO or a clear UD.

Tickets for the Garcia-Burgos 12-round battle are still widely available in the nearest ticketing booth and online sites. We highly suggesting you to buy Garcia vs Burgos tickets now to witness and experience this exciting boxing matchup that will surely start the year.

Victor Ortiz vs Luis Collazo Fight

Let’s get ready boxing fans for the Victor Ortiz vs Luis Collazo card on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York. Its scheduled for 10-round welterweight bout that will surely bring total explosion and excitement to thousand boxing aficionados.

Ortiz, who is coming off an 18-month layoff, had been slated to face former title challenger Gomez on Dec. 14 in San Antonio in the opening bout of a Showtime-televised quadrupleheader before Gomez suffered a freak injury late last month. He tripped while carrying his infant son, put his arm out to protect the baby when he fell and broke his hand.

Luis Collazo is an experienced veteran having been in the ring with a handful of top names including Ricky Hatton and Shane Mosley. Many fans and media members believe Collazo deserved the decision against Hatton and Berto. Those were both close fights and in many people’s eyes, Collazo was the first to defeat both Hatton and Berto. Collazo possesses good boxing skills and defense. He also fights out of the southpaw stance just like Victor Ortiz. He has a good chin and hasn’t taken too much punishment in his career.

In my opinion, this is a good match-up for both men, especially at this stage of their careers. It’s a crossroads fight between two former champions and the winner will certainly move on to bigger and better things.

Who do you think will win between Ortiz and Collazo? Ortiz fans will definitely check this card after his long layoff to boxing. Hurry buy Ortiz vs Collazo tickets now to witness this exciting and awesome fight card. Fight fans, don’t miss to witness and experience the Ortiz-Collazo live actions, excitement and thrill through televised on FOX Sports 1.

PACQUIAO PUNISHES TWO SPARRING PARTNERS

Manny Pacquiao looked awesome during a grueling three-hour workout at the Pscman Wild Card Gym here today (Tuesday) and seemed every inch like the “Fighter of the Decade.”

After running on the track for ten laps at the Acharon Sports Complex this morning, Pacquiao sparred eight rounds with undefeated Ghana welterweight Fredrick Lawson and British light middleweight Liam Vaughan who both were at the receiving end of devastating combinations that brought a pained expression to their faces.

Pacquiao caught the lanky Lawson with a looping left and sent him reeling backwards against the ropes even as his knees buckled before nailing Vaughan with a vicious left that ripped into the Brit’s solar plexus and took the wind out of him.

To the credit of the 23 year old British prospect he stood his ground and challenged Pacquiao to engage him some more despite the fact that he described the punch as a “killer blow.”

Vaughan told ABS/CBN’s Dyan Castillejo and this reporter that “I fight to the end and I told Manny to bring it on again because as a sparring partner I am supposed to help him.”

He said Pacquiao was “the best he’s ever been. He’s on fire. I have never been hit like that in my life” even as he predicted that Pacquiao “will knock out Rios with his body shots.”

Andre Ward vs Edwin Rodriguez -WBA Super World super middleweight title

Super middleweight Andre Ward (26-0, 14 KO’s) will face off against unbeaten ##1 WBC, #3 WBA, 3 IBF, #6 WBO, Edwin Rodriguez (24-0, 16 KO’s) on November 16th on HBO. There still isn’t a venue for the fight yet, but Dan Rafael is saying that the fight won’t take place in Ward’s home city of Oakland, California.

The 29-year-old Ward (26-0, 14 KOs), who will be making his sixth title defense, won the Super Six World Boxing Classic tournament in December 2011 before being off for more than eight months because of a hand injury and the birth of a child. Ward returned last September to hammer then-light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson, who had come down in weight to challenge for Ward’s title, into a 10th-round knockout in a brilliant performance.

Rodriguez (24-0, 16 KOs), 28, of Worcester, Mass., and the No. 1 American contender at 168 pounds, is coming off his biggest victory, an unexpected first-round knockout of contender Denis Grachev on July 13 in the final of the Monaco Million Dollar Super Four tournament, for which he earned the $600,000 winner’s share. The opposition in the 4-fighter tournament was God awful and it didn’t prove much of anything that Rodriguez won the tournament because pretty much everyone were guys that were more fringe contenders that top guys. Rodriguez also beat little known Argentinian Ezequiel Maderna in the tourney.

Ward vs Rodriguez tickets boxing championship bout are available for purchase at the nearest outlets or you may be able to order boxing tickets online.
