Capcom’s Hit Game is Headed for the Big Screen

Devil May Cry

Devil May Cry

Game maker Capcom and Japanese movie company Gaga Communications have announced that they have entered into an agreement to bring popular video game Devil May Cry to the big screen. The Devil May Cry will be developed as a live-action feature film. Capcom is no stranger to the world of film adaptations they’re behind the Resident Evil gaming franchise, which has a movie sequel on the way. As for now I don’t have any idea whose Hollywood talent becomes part of the project. I hope that this movie will be more realistic and based on the game itself. The game as described as many others (including Luigi, my classmate) focuses around “Dante, son of the legendary Sparta, a devil lieutenant with a heart for humans who turned against the Devil Prince more than 2,000 years ago, and in doing so turned the Usurping Devil Prince’s evil dreams on their head.  He conquered the devil, trapping him, and then left his evil past and the Underworld, so as to live with humankind. He married a woman who bore a half-devil, half-man child, Dante.” Some of my friends and including me play this game also. As the game begins, Dante is a maverick bounty hunter for hire who takes on jobs involving devils and other unwholesome creatures.  A stranger from Dante’s mysterious past challenges him to stop the Devil Prince who has freed himself and is preparing to take over the world. The Devil May Cry is a popular game here in Capiz. The game series has shipped a total of 4,270,000 copies worldwide according to Gaga and Capcom. Let’s wait what will be the outcome of this project. I hope the story of the movie will mostly base on the game itself to make it more exciting to watch by the fans.
